The Parliamentary Finance Committee stressed, on Monday, that talking about deducting employee salaries or reducing them are just rumors, pointing out that the government's steps regarding salaries must be through legislation for a special purpose.
Member of the Committee, MP Haneen Al-Qaddo, said in a statement to "Information", that "the news about reducing employee salaries or deducting part of them due to the global financial crisis is only mere rumors and premature."
He added that "the Iraqi government did not come out with an official position regarding the reduction or deduction of salaries for employees or retirees."
And that "the government and if it has the intention to set a new scale for salaries, it must be through legislation for salaries, the three presidencies, judges, university professors and all other employees." 25 n ended
