The Parliamentary Crisis Cell confirmed, on Tuesday, an increase in the number of Corona virus infections in Iraq, pointing to the need for a return to a comprehensive ban.
"There is a clear lack of cooperation from citizens and significant breaches of the partial curfew, and Iraq is still in danger, and the Corona pandemic crisis cannot be crossed without the application of preventive measures," said Faleh Al-Ziyadi, spokesman for the Parliamentary Crisis Cell.
Al-Ziyadi called on the government to "the necessity of returning to the comprehensive ban, and there is a clear threat and a looming threat on the horizon, and Iraq is still in the circle of this danger. Therefore, it is necessary to emphasize the commitment of citizens and not underestimate the nature of the epidemic."
And he called "the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety to reconsider the decision to lift the partial ban because it was a decision taken in a hurry and incorrectly, which threatens to clear danger," noting that "the committee must return to the comprehensive, not partial, and implement it in all parts of Iraq."
He demanded, "the centralization of the decision on the subject of the Corona pandemic crisis and the curfew, and that the decisions be issued by the committee exclusively and obligate all provinces to it."
Al-Ziyadi added, “Most citizens do not know the seriousness of the epidemic, and currently there is an increase (somewhat insignificant) and a single injury is a source of the spread of the epidemic, so a professional and scientific manner must be dealt with with the Corona pandemic and reconsideration of the decision to lift the curfew.” End 29 / A 43
