Al-Abadi reveals reasons for preventing the next prime minister from running for election
Baghdad - Conscious
Al-Nasr coalition leader Haider al-Abadi has called for the success of prime minister-designate Mustafa al-Kadhimi in his mission to form a government, and while he revealed the reasons for preventing the prime minister's candidacy for the upcoming elections, he called for the use of oil revenues for investment projects.
"The poor decision-making by political leaders at certain times has given baghdad the opportunity to be an arena for regional and international conflicts," Abadi said in the program "Under Two Lines", which is being aired on the Iraqi news channel al-Iraqiya.
"The external pressure at the moment is much less than before, particularly on the issue of the formation of the government, because of the world's preoccupation with the Corona epidemic, which is a golden opportunity for political blocs to form a government without outside interference," he said.
He pointed out that the prime minister-designate is a professional and successful in his work, especially after he became director of the intelligence service in 2015, pointing out that this period was the dominant and a partisan and component conflict, but he was able to install him as director of the agency acting.
He added that Al-Kadhimi was continuing his consultations with the political blocs and offered his ministerial captainship to them equally, not for one bloc at the expense of another, noting that the list of names of the cabin, which was leaked in the media, most of them are correct and a small part of them are inaccurate.
"The electoral process requires the blocs to form a government," he said, adding that Iraq's electoral system did not recognize the largest bloc, but rather a group of blocs that form a majority to form a government.
Abadi attributed the blocs' agreement not to nominate the prime minister in the upcoming elections, because the interim government was preparing for early elections, as well as reducing doubts about the manipulation of the election results, that the use of public money for electoral propaganda purposes by the prime minister.
Al-Kadhimi said he would be the head of a transitional government and did not intend to form a party or a political line, adding that Kadhimi had completed his ministerial cap and checked the names of the criminal record, the justice and justice process.
On the popular mobilization, Abadi said there is a political conflict within the rally ing establishment, warning that this conflict will reflect on the military system of the crowd.
He noted that there were several parties that joined the crowd for financial and political benefit, and called on the prime minister, commander-in-chief of the armed forces, to carry out reforms within the crowd in order to preserve them.
On the fiscal austerity that has taken place in his era, Abadi said there are major challenges faced by the government in 2014, including the fight against terrorism and the collapse of oil prices, adding that the austerity decisions fought the mafias of corruption that were living on state finances, despite their impact on projects.
He added that when he became prime minister in 2014, he carried out financial and administrative reforms in the face of challenges, noting that he was able to reduce the salaries of the three presidencies and special degrees, where the salary of the President of the Republic was 82 million dinars and was reduced by 70%.
Iraq was required to pay contractors 5.5 billion dollars, and it was paid in installments despite the lack of financial revenues, he said, noting that many of the projects referred before 2014 lacked economic viability and were suspended.
Oil prices began to improve in April 2018, he said, adding that in September of the same year, the money in the state treasury was estimated at 18 billion dollars.
The head of the Victory Coalition called on the government to invest oil revenues in investment projects rather than consumer operating expenses.
