Minister of Planning: the poverty rate in Iraq is 20%, and we expect it to increase

{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Minister of Planning, Nuri al-Dulaimi, confirmed on Monday that the poverty rate in the country is 20 percent, while this percentage is expected to rise due to the recent crisis.
Al-Dulaimi said in a press statement that "the poverty rate in all of Iraq reached 20 percent, according to the latest survey carried out by the ministry in 2018," noting that "the percentage rises in the southern governorates, where it reaches 52 percent in Muthanna."
"The percentages vary among the provinces according to economic activity in each province , " expected "high rates of poverty in rates due to the recent crisis, as a result of the loss of some workers in the private sector work and the lack of alternative sources of income for their" .anthy
