After burning hundreds of dunums of wheat and barley in Salah al-Din last year due to the terrorist ISIS at times and at other times by the American forces, it resulted in material losses to farmers estimated at 5 million per acre and so far they have not been compensated by the Ministry of Agriculture or government agencies
Mohsen Al-Masoudi, one of the farmers who lost their lands after burning them north of Dhuluiya, told Al-Ahd News that “his burned agricultural land is estimated at 23 dunums and the losses he received are not less than 70 million dinars,” demanding “government agencies to compensate him, even with a small portion.”
He added, "The burning of the agricultural lands in Salah al-Din led to a great shock to all farmers who use agriculture as a source of livelihood to support their families, but those concerned did not take care of that and did not compensate them with anything so far."
