Parliamentary Finance: The fiscal deficit delays sending the budget and will not come after the holiday

Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Thamer Theban, ruled out, on Saturday, the arrival of the final draft of the budget for the current year 2020 to the House of Representatives after Eid Al-Fitr, stressing that the current draft law was not sent because of the large financial deficit.
Theban said in a statement to the "information", "Talking about sending the 2020 budget to the House of Representatives after the blessed Eid Al-Fitr is unlikely because of the large financial deficit."
Theban added that "in the middle of the current month of May, we must start preparing for the budget for next year (2021)," stressing that "talking about the arrival of the budget these days is incorrect."
The member of the Finance Committee, Hanin Al-Qaddo, had confirmed in a previous statement to “Information”, that the draft budget law would be free of job grades and attention would be focused on the operational part related to the salaries of employees, retirees and other financial obligations.
