Baghdad / .. Governor of Ilam Qassem Soleimani Dashtaki announced the reopening of the Mehran border crossing with Iraq, two days a week. In a statement during the government’s meeting with the private sector on Tuesday, Soleimani Dashtaki said that following consultations and consensus with Iraqi officials, it has been decided to reopen the Mehran border crossing, two days a week, in full compliance with health protocols. The governor of Ilam added that the reopening of the commercial borders of this province with Iraq is being pursued seriously by the ministries of "Industry, Mines and Trade" and "Foreign" in the Islamic Republic. Soleimani Dashtaki added that it was decided, in accordance with the initial consensus, to reopen the borders with regard to exports of fruits, vegetables and food for two days a week. It is noteworthy that the Mehran border crossing with Iraq was closed some time ago to prevent an outbreak of the Corona virus.
