MP: There is a huge deficit and deficiency in the performance of Parliament
Basra MP, Kazem Finjan Al-Hamami, confirmed that there is a great deficit and deficiency in our parliamentary performance and to play our legislative and oversight role.
Al-Hamami said in a statement: There are no legislative sessions to discuss draft laws that are likely to be corrected. And no committee meetings except in rare cases and at an infrequent timing.
He added: There are no direct relations with the ministries, especially after the ministries distanced themselves and correspondence with them became through the coordination departments that imposed isolation on us. He pointed to an apparent failure to address the problems that the parliament itself created when it voted on the forced retirement law, reducing the functional life span without addressing its family repercussions.
And he added, there are no acceptable solutions to the security and service crises afflicting Iraq.
He explained: There is no doubt that these negative indicators put us in situations that we do not envy, and undermine the public’s confidence in us
