The official Arab spokesman for the US State Department, Christine James, considered that the Iraqi protests and demonstrations are nothing but a protest against Iran's hegemony in Iraq.
James stressed, in a press statement, that the regime in Tehran wants to eliminate economic life in Iraq, accusing Iran of seeking to destabilize Iraq and dominate all aspects of life in it.
The spokesman stressed that the United States of America stands with the Iraqis who came out loudly protesting against Iran's hegemony and the corruption of the political class, demanding accountability for the figures who incited violence, as well as leaders who failed to take practical steps to protect the right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, urging the government to act More reforms, and immediate steps to hold militias and unruly groups in Iraq accountable for their attacks against Iraqis who are exercising their right to peaceful protest.
