On Wednesday, a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Alia Nassif, considered the nomination of the Prime Minister’s advisor, Salem Chalabi, for the position of Central Bank Governor as an entrenchment of corruption, given that the information available to us is that he has suspicious links to a foreign country and has the nationality of that country, advising Kazemi to withdraw the nomination.
Nassif said in a statement to "the information", that "the nomination of the advisor to the prime minister for the post of central bank governor came as a result of imposing this personality by a country of nationality that possesses its nationality."
