Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Adel Al-Rikabi announced, on Thursday, that more than 200,000 workers will be included in social security, while directing to start an inspection campaign on various private and mixed sector companies to maximize the revenues of the workers' retirement and social security fund.
"The Minister of Labor, Adel Al-Rikabi, during his presidency of a meeting that included the Director General of the Retirement and Social Security Department and the Director General of the Department of Labor and Training, stressed the need to include workers in the media of various names, mobile phone companies, colleges, schools and private hospitals," the ministry said in a statement. Al-Rikabi said, during the meeting: "The number of insured workers registered in the Retirement and Insurance Department has reached 570,000 until this day," stressing that "the ministry has managed to include 208,000 workers since the period in which they assumed duties in the ministry."
The Minister of Labor directed "to start a major inspection campaign, in order to maximize the revenues of the retirement and social security fund for workers, with the importance of transmitting an educational message to educate the citizen on the importance of the social security law, while also directing to provide support to labor inspection departments in the governorates and to value the efforts of the qualified among them."
He stressed "the importance of working to educate the citizen and consolidate the concept of respect for the law, especially with the close to vote on the draft retirement and social security law in Parliament."
