{International: Al-Furat News} The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified the statements of the Secretary of the Expediency Council, Mohsen Rezaei, regarding Iran's assistance to Syria and Iraq to combat terrorism, and declared that his statements are a "personal viewpoint."
"Iran has participated in the fight against terrorism in both Syria and Iraq, based on its awareness of the threat of terrorism, and at the request of the Iraqi and Syrian governments," the foreign ministry statement said.
Regarding Rezaei’s statements in a press interview about Syria and Iraq, the Iranian Foreign Ministry clarified that “his statements reflect his personal point of view, and there is a distance between it and the vision of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as Iran rushed to help the government in both Iraq and Syria in all circumstances, and Iran's positions emerged during the fight against the organization ISIS. "
Rezaei had stated in an interview with the British Financial Times newspaper that "Iran is defending the countries that are suffering from the invasion of a foreigner in the region," considering that Iran considers establishing security and peace in the region as its duty because instability harms Iran's commercial interests.
Rezaei stressed that "from today, for every riyal we pay, we demand a riyal, because the economy is very important to us, and we do not see a reason to help Iraq and Syria in their security, and we see other parties enjoying the economic profits resulting from this security," adding that "Iranian goods must be brought into the region's markets." Strongly".
