The Secretary-General of the National Movement of My Country, Representative Zahra Al-Bajari, confirmed, on Monday, that the deputies had not received any response from the Council of Ministers regarding the amendments made to the draft budget bill.
Al-Bajari said in a statement to "the information", that "the amendments that the Parliamentary Finance Committee sent to the government, we did not find a response from the Council of Ministers," indicating that "the amendments to the draft law of the state budget included more than 130 amendments."
She added, "The governorate has not received its entitlement from the $ 5 project since its launch in 2010 until now," noting that "our position on the budget is clear if our demands are not met to serve our people in Basra, we have decided not to vote on the budget."
The deputy of Basra Governorate, Abdul Amir Al-Mayahi, confirmed in a previous statement to “the information” that the draft federal budget law for 2021 did not do justice to the Basra governorate as it contained catastrophic errors and that Basra’s representatives would refrain from passing the budget in the event that their governorate was not unfair.
