This picture is one of the hundreds of pictures taken by the British traveler "Wilfred Thesiger" during his visit to the marshes in the fifties. It shows "Haji Ihmid" the most famous makers of cruisers and galleys in the marshes, and he is almost the only Muslim who practiced this profession, which was the preserve of the Sabeans.
This photo, taken in the mid-fifties, was published in the American "National Geography" magazine in February 1958, and it was printed on the 50,000 Iraqi dinar note.
