Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq and Secretary-General of "NATO"

The Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jans Stoltenberg, stressed today, Wednesday, the need for continued coordination and joint action between the alliance and Iraq, within "the framework of the sovereignty of the Iraqi decision."
According to a statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, "Minister Fuad Hussein received a phone call from Stoltenberg, during which they agreed to continue coordination, in a way that strengthens the joint confrontation against ISIS terrorist gangs."
They also discussed ways to continue cooperation between Iraq and NATO within the "framework of the full sovereignty of Iraq," and the decisions of the Iraqi government.
Stoltenberg pointed out that the number of NATO soldiers in Iraq "is limited to aspects of training and providing logistical support to the Iraqi forces and security services."
The Secretary-General of NATO extended an invitation to the Iraqi Foreign Minister to participate in the next virtual meeting of all NATO ambassadors, which will be held during the following days, to shed light on the political and security situation in Iraq and relations with countries in the region.
