The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced, on Sunday, that it  cannot change the exchange rate, indicating that the Central Bank Law explicitly specifies the party authorized to change.
This came in a statement by Majida Al-Tamimi, a member of the committee, in a televised interview that he watched today (March 14, 2021).
"It is possible to make a supplementary budget to benefit from imports, and every dollar that increases in the price of a barrel in the budget raises revenues by more than one billion dollars, and we have allocated the necessary funds to the port of Faw," she said.
She explained, "There is great unemployment, high poverty and environmental pollution in Basra Governorate, and we raised petro-dollar allocations to a trillion after it was 500 billion, and that the government allocated 300 billion in addition to the petro-dollar fund, and we raised the income tax in the budget coming from the government."
She stated that "we should benefit from the Pope's visit to the city of Ur in Dhi Qar."
