    The Ministry of Planning announced, on Wednesday, that it has developed an implementation plan, to implement quality standards in the public and private sectors.
    A statement by the ministry, seen by Al-Eqtisad News, stated, “The Minister of Planning, during his presidency of the first meeting of the Committee to Monitor and Coordinate the Implementation of Organizational Controls and the National Quality Policy in Iraq, stated that the Ministry had developed an implementation plan, to implement quality standards in the public and private sectors, within the framework of work to achieve The sustainable development goals, at the top of which are human building, good governance and economic diversification.
    He added that "great efforts were made within the framework of the pursuit of quality, but the results achieved were not at the level of those efforts, attributing this to the dispersion of the concerned parties in this issue," noting that "the formation of this committee comes within the framework of institutionalizing quality work and linking it to development plans under the leadership of The Ministry of Planning".
    He explained, "There are many measures and steps that will be taken during the coming period, including the formation of a high-level committee from multiple parties to prepare a quality policy, within a national quality project, and in line with the World Trade Organization agreements and the principles of the multilateral trading system. And it will be according to a road map that charts the paths of the strategic implementation process. "
    He stressed, "Organizational controls and quality infrastructures will take into account the review of legislation related to health and safety, review of formations, institutions and organizational structures, and the development of special procedures related to standards, specifications, accreditation, and conformity assessment points."
