The Parliamentary Finance Committee clarified the latest developments related to the draft general budget for 2021 before the voting session.
Committee rapporteur, Ahmad Al-Saffar said, "The budget has witnessed lengthy discussions and it has been agreed to fix some contracts and there are changes in favor of young people as well as appointments for those with health professions." Al-
Saffar pointed out that "the budget deficit amounted to 28 trillion dinars and that it will be funded and covered from abundance only." Prices currently existing in the oil market, "noting that" the budget did not include any new loans, but there are repayments for the old ones. "
He added, "The political blocs and the region’s delegation have agreed to include Article 11 in the budget, and its content is that the rate of oil production in the region is according to the estimates of the Federal Ministry of Oil, 460 thousand barrels per day, and the costs of production, operation, transportation, domestic consumption and petrodollars will be deducted, provided that no less than 250 thousand barrels are delivered as a value at a price Market to the Iraqi government, in addition to 50% of non-oil revenues.
