    Independent MP Mansour Al-Baiji said, on Wednesday (March 24, 2021), that the decision to raise the exchange rate of the dollar was a "destruction for the poor and a sucker for the blood of the people," pledging to take a serious stand in Parliament to return the exchange rate to 119,000 dinars against 100 US dollars.
    Al-Baiji said, in a statement received on the IQ NEWS website  , that "all honorable MPs must take a serious stand in order to restore the dollar’s ​​exchange rate to its previous price, as it harmed a large segment of the Iraqi people who endured very great woes and woes and raised the exchange rate of the dollar destroyed by the destruction and their suffering Indescribable". 
    He added, "If the government insists on keeping the exchange rate of the dollar as it is, it must take quick measures, including raising the salaries of state employees, especially the low salaries and the salaries of the protection network, in line with the current situation and controlling the markets," stressing that "the spectator position does not stop." What is happening in the market from an unprecedented increase in foodstuffs. "
    Al-Baiji pointed out that "the Iraqi markets have been burned by the rise in prices due to the increase in the price of the dollar and the harm to the Iraqi people," explaining that "this rise included all goods without exception, not to mention the rise of medicines, so where does the poor who do not have sustenance every day go."
    He stressed the need for "there to be a serious and honorable stand by the honorable representatives to support their oppressed people over the past years and to this day by returning the dollar exchange rate to 119 thousand dinars against 100 dollars."
    Al-Baiji added, "We will have a serious stand by returning the dollar exchange rate to its old price, and we will not accept otherwise, and we will not compromise at the expense of the sons of our oppressed people who have suffered and endured a lot," according to him.
    He added, "Anyone who tries to mix the cards by raising the exchange rate of the dollar against factional interests of his own, we will stand against it and will not allow the situation to continue as it is."
    He pledged that "our word will be inside the parliament, is to return the exchange rate of the dollar to its old price, and we will not accept what is happening to our people by any party that offers its interest to the benefit of our wounded people."
