    (Baghdad: Al Furat News) Today, Tuesday, Iraq received from the State of Kuwait, under the auspices of the Tripartite Committee, the human remains of an Iraqi soldier who went missing during the 1990-1991 Gulf War, along with his belongings and his military identity.

    In a joint statement, the Euphrates News received a copy of it, the tripartite committee stated that “the human remains were found in early February on Bubiyan Island, which is located north of Kuwait. Framework for the Technical Subcommittee. "
    The statement added, "This development is the first of its kind since the year 2013, which will enable the family members of the missing person after completing the necessary DNA tests that will be conducted in the Iraqi forensic medicine department, to finally obtain clarification about the fate of her relative after three decades in which they lived in a state."     The statement indicated that "the tripartite committee and the technical sub-committee that emerged from it were established in 1991 and 1994 respectively to help ascertain the fate of the people who went missing during the 1990-1991 Gulf War. The International Committee of the Red Cross chairs these two committees, which are composed of representatives of the Republic." Iraq, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and the French Republic. 
    According to the statement, "The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) joined later in 2014 as an observer."

    The statement concluded: “The members of the Tripartite Commission continue to work tirelessly to search for those persons who are still missing as a result of the conflict.
