The commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, General Pierre Olsen, said his forces would not take the role of US forces in the country.
The mission commander affirmed that NATO forces continue to provide advice and training to the Iraqi forces, and that the tasks of its forces are non-combat and have not provided assistance or advice on targeting ISIS cells in Iraq or exposing them, indicating that NATO will not take the role of US forces in the war against ISIS.
