Yes Iraq: Baghdad

The fate of the 2021 budget entered into an virtually unknown tunnel until the date of its passage became unknown after the lifting of the session last Sunday that was scheduled to vote on the budget. Hold it despite setting a date for it.

A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Sherwan Mirza, said in a press statement, "The fate of the budget bill has become unknown due to the new differences that have emerged between the parliamentary blocs," noting that "the Kurdistan region’s share has nothing to do with postponing the session."
He added, "New differences appeared between the parliamentary blocs that caused the failure to hold a session to vote on the budget," noting that "some blocs submitted new demands in addition to determining the exchange rate of the dollar and did not reach an agreement between them."
A member of Parliamentary Finance pointed out, "There is no new date for voting on the budget, and the meetings ended without setting any date for the next session."
The House of Representatives had failed the day before yesterday, Sunday, to hold the special session to vote on the draft general budget law, due to differences and the failure to reach a final agreement between the political blocs on passing it.
The atmosphere between the different blocs became tense, amid the adherence of some blocs to the need to restore the price of the previous dollar before the vote on the budget, which economists believe will cause a new shock, while the government, the Parliament and some other blocs reject any new manipulation of the dollar price.

While the atmosphere indicates a lack of features for a close session, some blocs are making moves for all the signatures to hold the meeting, the Al-Fateh Alliance, Hamid Al-Mousawi, today, Monday, for collecting parliamentary signatures to vote on the general budget next Wednesday.

Mousawi said in a statement that "the signatures of a number of deputies were collected to hold the voting session on the country's general budget for the current year 2021 next Wednesday."

Moussawi expected that "the budget will be passed on next Wednesday or Thursday by the political majority."
