    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Electricity revealed that it aims to produce 22 thousand megawatts in the next summer season.

    "The current production is 11,500 megawatts, the operation is 24 hours due to mild weather and the lack of demand for electricity, and our target production in the summer is to reach 22,000 megawatts," the ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Moussa, said in a televised statement this evening.
    And between "Iraq will not be satisfied with importing energy to increase the demand for it, but linking projects with the Gulf and Jordan to Egypt will be allocated from the volume of demand," indicating that "the joint interconnection is a restoration of the projects in which many countries work and ensure the reliability of energy."
    He added, "In the marked moderation and lack of large loads, Iraq may pay energy to neighboring countries to reduce the financial costs on Iraq," noting that "the initial project with Jordan amounts to 150 megawatts and the funds allocated to the ministry in terms of energy imports."
    Moussa explained that " 
    He added, "We need 50 million cubic meters of imported gas to operate the stations, and at the height of the summer, they reach 70 million cubic meters," noting that "the alternatives are the rehabilitation of gas fields and the development of gas stations," noting that "the import of gas caused the inflation of the Ministry of Electricity's budget."
    An electricity spokesman declared, "We have started an experiment in taking electronic readings in the Basmajah complex in Baghdad and Karbala, and we have started installing electronic measurements within the electronic collection project in the distribution sector," noting that "providing distribution networks prevents the Ministry of Electricity from providing the required service.
