    [size=45]Yesterday, Tuesday, the Ministry of Planning announced the rise in the prices of building materials in Iraq for the month of February, as bricks and cement rose by 16‍%, iron by 48‍%, and Shelman by 20%.[/size]
    [size=45]The Ministry’s Central Bureau of Statistics said that “the high exchange rate of the dollar in the local markets led to an increase in the prices of local and imported construction materials in the private sector in varying proportions at the level of all governorates except the Kurdistan Region,” indicating that “64 building materials were followed up and registered in Local markets for the month of February and compared with the month of November 2020, during which the dollar prices were raised.[/size]
    [size=45]He added that “the average price of ordinary bricks for the month of February was 162 thousand dinars per 1000 bricks, recording an increase of 16‍% from the average price of November 2020, which amounted to 140 thousand dinars per 1000 bricks, while the price of the Republican bricks for the month of February reached 172 thousand. One dinar per 1000 bricks, recording a 7‍% increase over the average price in November 2020, which amounted to 161 thousand dinars per 1000 bricks.[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “The average price of regular cement for the month of February was 104 thousand dinars per ton, recording a 16‍% increase over the average price in November 2020 at 90 thousand dinars per ton, while the average price of resistant cement for the month of February was 127 thousand dinars per ton, registering an increase. By 13‍% of the average price for the month of November 2020 at 112 thousand dinars per ton.[/size]
