The regional government is discussing the Kurdistan’s share of the budget ... and Barzani: We are committed to implementing it[/rtl]

Today, Wednesday, April 7, 2021, the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Region held its periodic meeting headed by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked the negotiating delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government for performing its duties well, indicating that the financial dues of the Kurdistan Regional Government within the federal budget is a constitutional and legitimate right for the Kurdistan Region.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Kurdistan Regional Government is committed to the provisions of the budget law, and called on the federal government to fulfill its obligations towards the Kurdistan Region.
The Prime Minister also indicated that the Kurdistan Regional Government will continue the reform process and work to increase revenues and reduce costs in an effort to secure salaries and improve the economic situation in the Kurdistan Region.
In the first paragraph of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the negotiating delegation with the federal government presented the results of the discussions in Baghdad, praised the role of the members of the delegation, and indicated the need for both the federal government and the regional government to abide by the instructions that will be issued later in order to implement the budget law for 2021.
He stressed: "We stressed during our discussions with the parliament, government and Iraqi parties to adhere to the constitution and secure financial dues for the Kurdistan Region.
In the second axis of the meeting, the Minister of Planning, Dara Rashid, presented a report on the latest preparations for drafting the first draft of the Kurdistan Region Budget Law for the fiscal year 2021, and stressed that the preparatory work has made good steps, and that the draft law will be ready in the near future.
At the conclusion of the meeting, discussions were held about the epidemiological and health situation in the Kurdistan Region and the spread of the Corona epidemic on a larger scale, and in light of this, the Council of Ministers called on citizens to adhere to precautionary measures and health instructions in order to reduce injuries, especially with the increasing rate of injuries now.
