The parliament presidency discusses the Nahrawan water project: 48 hours to determine the negligence[/rtl]

Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, chaired, on Wednesday, an expanded meeting devoted to discussing the problem of the delay in the water project of Nahrawan district and the great scarcity of drinking and raw water for the people of the region.
The meeting was attended by the Governor of Baghdad, Muhammad Al-Atta, Jaber Hajji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Construction, Husam Al-Oqabi, a representative of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Najm Saeed, Director General of the Water Department in the Ministry, in addition to the Deputy Commander of Baghdad Operations and a number of concerned authorities, and the presence of a number of sheikhs and notables in the Nahrawan district.
During the meeting, the details of the water shortage problem that the region has been suffering from for years were discussed, and everyone listened to the causes of the company’s reluctance and to identify the obstacles and treatments required, while Al-Kaabi stressed the setting of a short and specific timetable for the completion of the project and the delivery of drinking and raw water to all residents of the region and the protection of The conveyor line and dealing with the violations that occurred to it, and the establishment of an operations room under its chairmanship and membership of a number of relevant bodies and committees and the governorate of Baghdad to supervise the matter, starting tomorrow.
Al-Kaabi called on the executing company and the Ministry of Reconstruction to submit a report within 48 hours to determine the possibility of completing the water project within a short time or refer part of it or all of its details to the governorate of Baghdad to proceed with it as quickly as possible, warning that failure to comply within the time limit set for completion is an explicit legal violation that will be held accountable. On it all who prove his negligence.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a parliamentary order was issued to form a permanent committee to supervise the implementation of the permanent solution project for Nahrawan water and to determine the legal responsibility for its reluctance in its implementation, and the permanent follow-up until its completion, headed by Al-Kaabi and the membership of a number of representatives and relevant authorities.
Al-Kaabi stressed that it is impossible to accept denying an Iraqi citizen a service that affects his life under the pretext of having disputes with any of the executing companies.
