10 million dinars for one who marries a second wife" ... a fact of a circulating publication on the communication sites

Users of social networking sites in Iraq circulated news of the Iraqi government’s decision to grant ten million dinars to every citizen who remarries, but this news was not true and the Iraqi government did not issue a decision in this direction .
The leaflet stated: "The Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, grants ten million Iraqi dinars to every Iraqi citizen who marries a second wife ."
This post received hundreds of posts and thousands of comments on several pages on the Arabic language communication sites, at a time when "no such decision was issued by the Iraqi authorities ."
However, on October 21, 2021, the government-owned Rasheed Bank issued a statement announcing that it would grant ten million dinars in advance to those wishing to marry .
The text of the statement reads: “The loan is granted for one time only (..) to those who got married for the first time, and it is also granted to the employee who is married for the second time,” if he does not benefit from it for the first time .
The "Technology for Peace" Facebook page, which is specialized in responding to false news, suggested that a defect in understanding the Rasheed Bank's decision led to the emergence of this wrong post .
In recent years, incorrect news appeared in similar contexts. The news health investigation service of the French Press Agency issued reports about it, including the imposition of polygamy by the authorities in Yemen or in Eritrea on its citizens under penalty of imprisonment.
