Member of Parliament, Wafaa Al-Shammari, revealed today, Tuesday, her intention to collect signatures before the parliament session today, in order to include the issue of the Ministry of Finance and the government's intention to impose taxes on employees.


Al-Shammari said in an interview with Al-Sumaria News, "The Cabinet is expected to discuss today the recommendations sent by the Minister of Finance regarding the activation of the income tax on employee salaries," indicating that "this matter is contrary to the laws in force and approved by the Budget Law, which is an unacceptable targeting of an important segment of the people." She added, "We had hoped that the discussion of this step would be automatically included in the agenda of today's session, but unfortunately it was overlooked for reasons that were not announced. Therefore, within our legal and moral duty towards our Iraqi people, we will proceed to collect parliamentary signatures in order to present them with a request."
