, Imad Youhanna, advisor to Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, ruled out, on Saturday, lifting the immunity of MPs who received requests from the judiciary regarding them to investigate cases related to corruption files.
In a radio interview, Youhanna said, "Lifting the immunity of any deputy requires consensus within parliament and achieving a quorum by voting."
He pointed out, "The requests of the judiciary to lift the immunity that reached Parliament from some representatives are close to 10 requests," noting that "part of them is old and some of them are the result of lawsuits filed by MPs against others."
