    {Locality: Al-Furat News} The Iraqi Oil Minister, Ihssan Abdul-Jabbar, discussed with his counterpart, Syrian Oil Minister Bassam Tohme, the extent of benefiting from the abundance of Egyptian gas and transporting it across Syrian lands.
    A statement of the Ministry of Oil, a copy of which was received by the Euphrates News, stated that, “Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismail confirmed Iraq's keenness to strengthen its relations with neighboring countries, the countries of the Arab region and the countries of the world in all fields, especially the oil, gas and energy sectors in a way that serves common interests, develops the national economy and develops its industry. This came during his meeting with his counterpart, the Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Bassam Tohme, and his accompanying delegation, who arrived in Iraq on an official visit. The statement indicated that "issues of common interest were discussed, there are points of convergence and future visions about the extent to which the abundance of Egyptian gas can be utilized and transported across the Syrian territories. The strengthening of joint cooperation in the sectors of oil, energy, training and exchange of experiences was discussed. Technical committees will be formed to discuss areas of joint cooperation."
    Syrian Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Bassam Tohme expressed his happiness to visit Iraq and meet with officials in the Ministry of Oil, indicating that the talks included discussing a set of ideas and visions for future projects, referring to the depth of relations and joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of oil and energy, and the statement noted that the meeting was attended by Each of the ministry's undersecretaries and a number of officials and general managers from the Iraqi and Syrian oil ministries.
