Oil prices rose today, Wednesday, after a drop in US inventories and the reopening of markets in the US and Europe, which will help demand.

Brent crude, in settlement for July, rose 2.69% to $ 69.39 a barrel on the ICE Futures Exchange.

WTI for June delivery rose 2.65% to $ 66.19 on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 05:32 GMT.

The American Petroleum Institute reported that crude supplies fell by 7.69 million barrels last week, the largest drop since late January.

Investors are betting that increased demand for the vaccine and increased mobility in major economies will drain crude oil inventories and support higher prices. This means that oil has expanded its gains in recent weeks even amid the dangerous outbreak of the virus in Asia.
