Independent MP Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed the parliament’s support for any law that includes effective procedures regarding the recovery of money smuggled due to corruption, whether it was before or after the year two thousand and three.
Al-Sudani said that Parliament had tried to prosecute the corrupt and the money smuggled out of Iraq, and it made an amendment to the illicit gain law in the year 2000 and 19, but it contained several loopholes that were not addressed, stressing the need to hold accountable those involved in the waste and smuggling of public money.
