The Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee announced, on Thursday, that the implementation of the agreement on oil exports to the region needs two matters, while indicating that the announcement of the non-commitment of one of the parties to the agreement is premature.
The deputy head of the committee, Rebwar Taha, said, according to the official agency, that the committee’s role is legislative and supervisory to follow up and implement agreements, including the region’s oil exports agreement between Kurdistan and Baghdad, indicating that “the announcement that one of the parties will not abide by this agreement, which is included in the budget law regarding oil exports in The territory is premature. "
Taha added that "the implementation of the agreement needs technical matters on the method of delivery in addition to administrative matters," stressing the need for "the commitment of the governments of the center and the region to the agreement and the mechanism for its implementation according to what was agreed upon in the budget."
He stressed that "a delegation from the region headed by Qubad Talabani will visit Baghdad to agree on a mechanism for implementing what was agreed upon in the budget law in terms of receiving and delivering receivables," noting that "the Oil and Energy Committee has a responsibility to monitor the implementation of the voting materials and the commitment of the two parties in their implementation."
