The General Director of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Farhan Mohsen, said angry in a statement to the official agency affiliated with "People", (May 27, 2021), that "there are old projects in the port of Faw that have been signed within the 2019 budget as financial support, and these projects have reached advanced stages in the past. In spite of the Corona pandemic, which is the internal road project or the internal roads (Exzrod) and the (Yard) project, which is the (Al Tanl) basin in which the concrete blocks that will be included in the construction of the submerged basin under the Khor Al Zubair channel are one of the new projects and at the same time the rock blockage. "The port of Al-Faw is built or established in a marine area, and therefore when you want to establish a berth or a yard, you must define this area with a rocky seal until it is filled with sand or spice until it becomes a yard."
He added that "work is underway on the new projects that were signed at the end of last year 10 days after the signing, as the first project includes building 5 berths of 1750 meters by 350 meters for a single berth, and the second project is a handling and storage yard for containers of the same length and a width of 500 meters, and the project The third is the strategic international road that will link the port of Al-Faw with the city of Umm Qasr or with the highway connecting to the city of Umm Qasr with a length of 63 kilometers through the submerged canal, which is a submerged (TNL) implemented in a modern way and parts that are poured concrete outside the site and then transferred to The site after paving the unit with the other until it produces the submerged tunnel. "
He continued, "The fourth project is the construction of the navigation channel with a length of 25 kilometers, part of it inside the port and part outside the port, and raising quantities of up to 110 million cubic meters of silts."
"The depth of Al-Faw port has stabilized at 19.8 meters for the navigation channel, as the canal digs the sediment basin, which is the place on which the ship anchors, to 22 meters and is paved with stones to 19.8 meters or 20 meters so that it is prepared without any silt for the ship to dock on a place completely secured by rocks. ".
The director of the Iraqi ports stated that "the largest container ship in the world docked more than 6 to 7 months ago and crossed the Suez Canal, with a depth of 17.5 meters, and therefore a depth of 19.8 meters, the Faw port could receive the world's largest ships for containers", noting that "the port was not established or planned." For him to receive container ships only, as there are oil berths, gas berths and (for the buck) berths that are bulk cargo, and all types of these ships are of high submersibles and large sizes. "
"If the port is designed according to the Master Plan, which was designed by the Italian company, Techntal, with a feasibility study, it will be an industrial city, a tourist city, a commercial city, an exchange center for a free market, an airport for air freight, a petrochemical plant, a giant power station and a sweet water station," he said.
He pointed out angry that "there are a thousand workers currently working in small projects in the port, ranging from 800 to 1000 trucks, and each truck contains two workers (the driver and the assistant), and therefore there will be up to 3000 workers currently who are not working on equipment and the staff of Daewoo who reach Their number is about 300 workers, "explaining that" the work system is managed by Daewoo, which continues to work day and night, especially at the Al-Tanl site. "

The truth of what happened Bakhur Al-Zubayr days ago
"What happened in Khor Al-Zubair is that the engines of one of the tankers leaving Al-Khor Port in the navigation channel failed," he said, pointing out that "before the arrival of this tanker to the Kuwaiti side due to currents, our towers intervened quickly after requesting assistance from them, and the tanker was taken to a safe place." .
The director of Iraqi ports pointed out that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi's first visit to the ports allocated a force to protect the ports, which is part of the leadership of the maritime force," explaining that "part of the forces present at the leadership of the maritime forces took over the external protection, while the internal protection is dependent on the security companies of the sector." Operational. "
He continued, "There is an entire section called ISBS, which consists of individuals from the blog who supervise port security," noting that "our company was not satisfied with this limit of control over securing ports, but we resorted to a company with high experience and includes a number of German experts." To manage the port security file and raise the security level for ports globally, in order to reach acceptable levels.

    Iraqi Resources Revenue
The director of Iraqi ports revealed that "the average revenue from the ports reaches up to 50 billion dinars per month," explaining that "this amount is subject to increase."
He pointed to "continuing to enhance revenues through pressure of expenditures," pointing out that "there are measures that we resort to from time to time to increase full control by updating the tariffs of revenues and wages and make them serve the interest of the company before any other party."
And that "this was reflected positively and the revenue ratios were raised from 5 to 7 billion Iraqi dinars," noting that "there are preventive measures for port work, and a plan has been drawn up and work on it, which raised revenues in one hour to 300 million dinars for a month."
