Senior officials in the US Department of Defense said that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have weighed on the US military coffers, stressing that the withdrawal from these two countries will reduce the financial burden on the army significantly.
A report by the American Defense One website confirmed that the US military’s budget will witness a surplus of three billion, an interval of two million dollars, in operation and maintenance funds, due to the withdrawal from Baghdad and Kabul.
And Pentagon officials believed, according to the report, that US President Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from Afghanistan means that the naval and air forces will need more money, unlike the Afghan army, which will need less money.
