    [size=45]Yesterday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee announced the discussion of appeals submitted by the government regarding the 2021 budget. A statement by the Media Department, which (Al-Mada) received a copy of, stated that “the Financial Committee headed by MP Haitham Al-Jubouri and the attendance of its members, and within a series of meetings with the governors, the Governor of Karbala hosted Nassif Al-Khattabi to discuss the governorate’s investment plan within the current year’s budget.”[/size]
    [size=45]The statement added, “The Finance Committee discussed the hosting, which was held at its headquarters, the investment plan for the governorate within the financial allocations allocated to it in the current year’s budget. Al-Khattabi reviewed the most important projects to be established in the governorate and the costs allocated to them,” noting that “the financial committee focused on the feasibility of each A project and its importance for the governorate, as well as the need to accelerate the completion of these projects to achieve the required development in a way that could create many job opportunities for unemployed youth.[/size]
    [size=45]In a separate context, a statement of the Media Department, a copy of which (Al-Mada) received, stated that “The Finance Committee held a meeting headed by Representative Haitham Al-Jubouri and its members attended a meeting in which it discussed the appeals submitted by the government on some texts in the Federal Budget Law for 2021.”[/size]
    [size=45]The statement added, “The committee discussed in the meeting held at its headquarters in the presence of the financial advisor to the House of Representatives and the Director General of the Legal Department, the reasons that prompted the government to challenge some of the budget provisions, as the committee expressed its surprise at the appeals that would deprive the oil-producing provinces such as Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar and Kirkuk from their allocations. From the petrodollars ”.[/size]
    [size=45]The statement pointed out, "The Finance Committee stated that it was surprised by an appeal in which the government rejected an article that it had added intending to increase the purchase prices of wheat, barley and rice crops from farmers, as the committee confirmed that this article was added in fairness to the farmers' segment and to support the agricultural sector."[/size]
