The Prime Minister's Adviser for Financial and Economic Affairs, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, suggested establishing a development tax fund to support the agricultural and industrial sectors.
Saleh said in an article published by the Iraqi Economists Network and reviewed by Al-Iqtisad News, that "the proceeds of tax collection must be linked and allocated specifically to finance the agricultural and industrial sectors by granting soft loans to farmers and industrialists in the name of the Development Tax Fund, provided that the Fund is supported with other supportive financial resources. This is accompanied by a carefully studied and renewed government support program in line with the development of the country's productive capabilities in the real sectors.
He added that "such trends that require linking ownership with production and linking financing to taxes must all contribute to stimulating a huge industrial and agricultural renaissance at the end of the current decade or the beginning of the next decade," explaining that "next year will be the year of renaissance and employment for agriculture and industry within programs that integrate the structure with it."
