    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced, on Sunday, an increase in the number of insured workers from 250 thousand workers to 570 thousand workers during the last period, while it announced the launch of a program to support youth in coordination with UNICEF.
    The director of the Labor and Vocational Training Department in the ministry, Raed Jabbar Bahed, said, in a press statement, that "the ministry launched a number of campaigns in Baghdad and the provinces in order to implement the labor and social security laws, which contributed to the increase in the number of workers covered by the social security law," noting that "the ministry" It is serious about including all workers in the various labor sectors in the labor and social security laws.
    He added that "in cooperation with (UNICEF), the ministry launched a program to support young people to move from learning and skills development to decent work through the fields of self-employment and the labor market, since any country that has wealth must reflect positively on society," noting that "Iraqi law obligated the Ministry of Working with the implementation of the labor and social security laws, and that the terms of these two laws stipulate that foreign workers obtain work permits in return for employing at least 50% of the investment projects and the private sector.
    And he indicated that "the ministry, with the presence of foreign expertise for the country's need for it, but in a qualitative way and not in a quantitative manner, which causes an increase in the number of the unemployed, whose number exceeds one million and 600 thousand unemployed people registered in the ministry's database, in addition to a similar number of those who are not registered with it."
    Bahed noted that "it was recently agreed with the local government in Dhi Qar governorate to allocate lands in Dhi Qar governorate to establish marketing complexes implemented by the ministry with the aim of employing young job seekers," noting that "the ministry owns a complete database of the numbers of job seekers that includes the data of researchers their qualifications and educational attainment.
