BAGHDAD - INA - Sam Mulla
expressed the Security and Defense Committee in Parliament on Tuesday for refusing to target military bases of Iraqis, while the need for Iraq confirmed the presence of foreign technicians for the maintenance of aircraft.
The head of the committee, Muhammad Rida Al Haidar, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Every targeting of military bases and airports belonging to the Iraqi armed forces is a mistake and is rejected by the Security and Defense Committee," noting that "Balad base is strategic and includes aircraft for the Iraqi Air Force, including the numbered F16 aircraft." Little".
He stressed that "some are trying to target foreign consultants and technicians in the bases, and this is considered a mistake," explaining that "Iraq needs the presence of these technicians to maintain aircraft in those bases."
It is noteworthy that the military bases in Iraq, in addition to the airports, including Baghdad Airport and Erbil Airport, are subjected from time to time to Katyusha rocket bombardment, which leads to injuries among members of the Iraqi security forces, in addition to causing material damage, and the last of these operations was the exposure of Ain al-Assad base to a missile attack Katyusha was fired from the al-Baghdadi side, without any casualties recorded, according to what the Security Media Cell announced.
