    On Wednesday (June 23, 2021), the State Real Estate Department announced activating the decision to sell lands on which industrial projects are built to their owners who obtained an establishment license under the Industrial Investment Law for the private and mixed sectors, as an exception to public auction.
    The semi-official Al-Sabah newspaper quoted the assistant director of the State Real Estate Department, Rand Raad Raji, as saying that "the department has activated during the past period, Cabinet Resolution No. 277 of 2020 to sell lands built on industrial projects to their owners," noting that "the department and through its branches in Baghdad and the governorates have received many transactions related to this issue for decision, and that the sale of these industrial lands will be an exception to the public auction.
    He added that "the decision includes several conditions for the sale, and stipulates that the industrial project be outside the basic design of the cities, that it has been granted a permit to complete the establishment for a minimum of 5 years, and that the owner of the project submits his clearance from the General Authority for Taxes or one of its branches and the safety of the situation from Social Security Department for Project Workers.
    Raji pointed out that "the conditions set require that the land on which the project is built does not have a water share and that the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Land Department, raise the hand of agricultural reform at the request of the State Real Estate Department with regard to the land subject of this decision in accordance with the legislation and regulations in force, and the Ministry of Agriculture To take all necessary measures in case the beneficiary violates the provisions of this decision in accordance with the legislation in force. 
    He stressed that "the State Real Estate Department, in coordination with the Ministry of Justice through the Real Estate Registration Department, takes the necessary measures to change the sex of the property covered by the provisions of this decision, and that the Real Estate Department will estimate the sale allowance and fulfill it for the purposes of this decision in accordance with the provisions of the Law of Sale and Rent State Funds No. 21 of 2013 amended and its instructions ".
