    Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - The United States on Saturday condemned the attack, which was carried out by a drone in the Kurdistan Region, as a "violation" of Iraq's sovereignty.
    At dawn on Saturday, the drone dropped explosives on villages in the vicinity of Erbil, causing damage to one of the citizens' homes, in addition to material losses to at least two cars.
    "The United States condemns the attack that took place on Saturday with a drone in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq," the US Consulate General in Erbil said in a statement.
    "This attack represents a clear violation of Iraq's sovereignty," she said in the statement, which she posted on her Twitter account.
    This is the latest attack on the Kurdistan Region by drones, after a similar attack on Erbil International Airport in April 2021.
    In February 2021, a barrage of missiles hit a US Army post in the vicinity of Erbil International Airport, killing a foreign contractor.
