    (Local: Al Furat News) The Ministry of Oil denied the statements of a former deputy, which it described as "naive lies" regarding printing a magazine for the ministry that costs billions of dollars annually.

    And the ministry said in a statement that the agency {Euphrates News} received a copy of: “At a time when the Ministry of Oil respects freedom of expression, opinion and other opinion, it refuses to exploit the space of freedom by some with lies and slander, and to target government institutions, officials and workers, for narrow goals and interests without taking into account the simplest Ethical, professional and national rules.
    She added, "In this context, the Ministry of Public Information rejects the statements of the former deputy (Rahim Al-Darraji) to one of the satellite channels and his claim that one of the departments and companies affiliated with the ministry prints a monthly magazine, at a cost of {5 billion dinars} per month and at an annual cost of (75) billion dinars," denying this. naive allegations and lies, and condemns the systematic misleading process carried out by the claimant, to defame the ministry’s work on more than one occasion.”
    She noted that Al-Darraji "did not mention in his television statement the name of the company or department or the name of the publication, noting that the ministry does not have a publication or magazine, except for some companies that issue quarterly magazines."
    The Ministry of Oil noted that "[Al-Darraji] used to raise fragmentary topics for some oil issues that he did not understand, including what he had previously claimed about an oil company buying two helicopters for $9 billion!".
    Al-Darraji held the "moral and legal responsibility, and all the consequences and damages that it entails against the ministry and the oil companies," appealing to "the press and professional and national media, to be accurate and objective when circulating information related to the oil sector."
