, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi affirmed on Sunday the Parliament's support for tripartite cooperation between Iraq, Jordan and Egypt.
A statement by Al-Halbousi's office stated that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "the latter met with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, and the meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and joint cooperation in the fields of politics, economy and investment, and the importance of expediting the implementation of strategic projects such as joint industrial cities and projects. The meeting also discussed cooperation in the security field, combating terrorism and extremist ideology, and working to enhance stability in the region.
Al-Halbousi pointed to the importance of continuing joint cooperation between the two brotherly and neighboring countries, praising the Kingdom's supportive stances for Iraq, and stressing the legislative authority's support for the tripartite Iraqi-Jordanian-Egyptian cooperation to serve the common interests.
King Abdullah affirmed his country's full support for preserving the security and sovereignty of Iraq, and standing by it to achieve stability, expressing his happiness at visiting Baghdad.
