{Political: Al Furat News} The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed, during his reception today, Tuesday at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Adel Al-Rikabi, "the need to empower young people and push them into the labor market, and to give priority to low-income groups."
Saleh stressed, according to a presidential statement, that "the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is an important and pivotal ministry because of its connection with the support and attribution of an important class of citizens, and for the huge and multiple tasks it undertakes," noting "the need to give the elderly, orphans, homeless and low-income groups a top priority in order to achieve social justice." and provide a free and dignified life.
He pointed to "the importance of the social security and general retirement laws, and the necessity of developing and applying them in a fair and balanced manner, to include all classes entitled to them, and to support these groups with more by qualifying them to get jobs and training them through supporting small projects."
President Saleh also stressed "the necessity of activating the Directorate of Survivors' Affairs in the ministry and allocating the necessary capabilities for that."
He pointed to the importance of empowering young people, rehabilitating them and benefiting from their energies, relying on Iraqi labor more than foreign workers, and providing training and rehabilitation opportunities and loans in order to enter the labor market, stressing that all support is provided to the ministry and its existing efforts to carry out the tasks entrusted to it.
