[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / - The / Sadiqoun / Parliamentary bloc announced the collection of signatures for the prime minister's approach to activate the Iraqi Atomic Energy Law (Law No. 43 of 2016).
Representative Iktfa Al-Hasnawi pointed out, in a press statement today, Wednesday, the importance of this law in the disposal of radioactive waste, and the follow-up to the establishment of the electronuclear station, which is concerned only with the Atomic Energy Authority and according to the law.
She added, "The supervisory authorities exist in Law 99 of 1980 in force (the Law on the Prevention of Ionizing Radiation) and the Law of the Iraqi Commission for the Control of Radioactive Materials (Law 72 of 2004)," indicating that "delaying the activation of the law on the pretext that there is no regulatory authority is rejected by law." .
Al-Hasnawi called on the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to rely on the nuclear activity experts who are currently in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the supervisory authorities that have effective laws and work in them so far, and not to rely on some members of the advisory body, to take important decisions for state institutions, indicating that " The task of the advisory body is to express an opinion, not to stop the application of laws.”/ End 5[/rtl]
