    BAGHDAD - Iraq Press -21 July: In the light of environmental problems, and exposed Iraq's cities from ruin and Adharr serious environmental, climate and agricultural situation, as a result of armed operations, announced the Ministry of Environment for the Global Environment Fund allocation (7.5) million to fund environmental projects in Iraq.


    Said Undersecretary Ali al-Lami said, "This funding will be used to complete the environmental projects in the three axes; climate change, desertification, and biodiversity protection," adding that "the fund will supplement the Iraq experience environmental organizations world in order to discuss the problems within those themes and provide solutions them. "

    He revealed that "the Iraqi government will support the amounts allocated from the Global Environment Fund Other amounts for the same purpose."

    For their part, the importance of the implementation of the projects, observers are working on finding solutions to the environmental problems in Iraq, which they said were taken worsen after 2003 and up to now, especially those related to climate change, desertification and bio-diversity.

    And affect the climate change problem suffered by Iraq negatively on human and animal health, and contribute to the proliferation and endemic new types of animals, and led to the demise of other Iraqi environment, which calls for the Iraqi government to cooperate with international organizations to develop integrated plans to find solutions to environmental problems in the country.
