    Baghdad / National News Center
Today, Monday, the Independent High Electoral Commission confirmed its full readiness to hold the elections on schedule, while revealing its intention to conduct 3 electoral simulations with an international presence.
Commission spokeswoman Jumana al-Ghalay told the official agency, which was monitored by the "National News Center," that "the commission has completed what it has to do, and is now working within the preparations for the voting process," stressing that "the commission is fully prepared to hold the elections on schedule."
She added, "The logistical materials for the electoral process have ended, and they are sensitive and insensitive materials, in addition to the fact that the lottery for candidates will be in the next few days, followed by the first simulation."
And she added, "There will be three simulations for the polling day, the first of which will be one station for each registration center, and we have 1079 registration centers, and the second and third simulation will be two stations."
She pointed out that "the simulation will be an actual polling process, and there will be a manual and electronic counting, and the results will be sent to the national office."
And she indicated that "the Korean company, Mira, the manufacturer of electronic devices, the German company that examines these electronic devices, and the United Nations, will attend the simulation for electoral assistance, as well as the International Agency for Electoral Systems and a number of media."
She pointed out that "a number of Arab and foreign ambassadors visited the Electoral Commission and met with the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and members of the Council, and expressed their willingness to participate in the electoral observation, as well as a number of international organizations that responded to the invitation to participate in the electoral observation, such as the European Union and the statement issued by them agreeing to participate in the electoral observation." High-level government coordination.
She stressed that "there are many guarantees to ensure the integrity of the electoral process, and things are smooth, and we hope that they will culminate in a wide participation of citizens on the day of polling, which is the biggest guarantee of the integrity of the elections."
She stated that "the Electoral Commission has set instructions regarding voting complaints and electoral appeals, as after the announcement of the preliminary results, there will be appeals," explaining that "the Commission issued a decision, that the appeal in any center or station requires re-counting and manual counting."
She pointed out that "the re-counting and manual counting is done by providing insurances amounting to one million Iraqi dinars, and this amount is recorded as a final revenue to the state treasury in the event that electronic results match with manual ones, and if they do not match, the insurances are returned."
Concerning requests to change the names of the parties, Al-Ghalai indicated that “the parties that wish to change their name, must review the Department of Parties and Political Organizations Affairs, and submit an application on this subject while keeping the number and date of the license number, if the party is under incorporation or has a certificate of incorporation, and if it wants to change the name of the party. The party, while keeping the number and date of its permit, must pay 12 million and 500 thousand Iraqi dinars, and submit an application signed by the party leader or his representative, with the submission of this amount for the purpose of changing the party’s name.
