Member of the Parliamentary Economy Committee, Nada Shaker Jawdat, said in a press interview, “The Council of Ministers should hold the Minister of Commerce accountable to find out where the ration card items go, in light of the rise in dollar prices, which led to an increase in the prices of all foodstuffs, as well as an increase in the poverty rate to frightening degrees. And the increase in the unemployment rate," noting that "the Ministry of Commerce was supposed to provide the card's vocabulary since the beginning of the dollar crisis."
Jawdat called, "the government to activate the work of economic security to monitor markets, as well as to find cooperative markets supported by the state that help the citizen to be able to live in light of the high cost of living," noting that "the citizen has become a prey to the mismanagement of all government departments from 2003 to the present time." Urging "the government to open the contracts of the Ministry of Commerce and not to remain silent about it to find out the money that finances the ration card."
For his part, a member of the committee, Nawfal Al-Nas’, stressed that “the state must draw up its construction policies according to the important strategic projects that are in the public interest and which the stage needs now,” noting that the “Ministry of Planning should manage project policy development in a central manner, as it is the only ministry concerned with drawing up policies.” economic strategic projects.
He added, "There are strategic sovereign projects that the Ministry of Planning should work on to formulate its policies, as it represents the interest of Iraq in general, such as the Faw port, which is one of the most important vital projects and has its own law (the FAO authority) that was approved by the House of Representatives and is considered a mainstay in reducing unemployment. And support the investment of strategic projects,” stressing that “the government should work to develop an economic policy and establish cross-provincial projects that do not concern the economy of a particular province, but rather Iraqi strategic projects par excellence in the interest of the country.”
