    {Political: Al Furat News} Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonetti announced today, Tuesday, that Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergs will travel to Iraq, on July 18, to discuss the issue of immigration to the European Union via Belarus.

    The Lithuanian Foreign Minister will visit Turkey today and tomorrow to discuss the same issue, amid accusations from Lithuania and the European Union that Belarus is using illegal immigrants as a means to pressure the European Union due to the sanctions imposed on Minsk.
    Lithuania has appealed to European Union countries to send two helicopters and 30 patrol vehicles to control the border as part of the fight against the influx of migrants from Belarus.
    Last Friday, Lithuania began building a 550 km barbed wire barrier on its border with Belarus after accusing the Belarusian authorities of sending hundreds of Iraqi migrants illegally to its territory.
