The Integrity Commission revealed the total public funds that were able, through its deterrent and preventive measures, to preserve them and prevent their wastage during the first half of this year (2021), indicating that the total of those funds amounted to more than (203) billion dinars.
The Investigation Department said in a statement received by "Al-Nour News" a copy, that "its preventive and deterrent measures, through its directorates and investigation offices in Baghdad and the provinces, contributed to the province or prevented the waste of (203,184,401,916) billion dinars of public money during the current year."
She added, "These funds included the money that the commission was able to detect through its preventive or deterrent measures and the money that it returned according to judicial decisions, as well as the money that was returned during the seizure operations, the money that the commission stopped wasting, and the money that was actually returned to the state treasury."
The department pointed out that "the Basra Investigation Directorate was able alone, through its preventive and deterrent measures, to prevent the waste of nearly (135) billion dinars of public money, while the Baghdad Investigation Directorate was able to prevent the waste of nearly (26) billion dinars."
It is worth noting that the total amounts that the Commission was able to maintain, recover or prevent wasting during the past year 2020, announced through the annual report, amounted to more than one trillion and a quarter of a trillion dinars, while in 2019 it amounted to nearly three trillion Iraqi dinars.
